Amazing voyage to the heart of the Battle of the Bulge in Manhay’s History 44 Museum

On the eve of winter in 1944, the final battles took place between the Americans and the Germans in what became known as the Battle of the Bulge. At the heart of the chaos: the community of Manhay, who now invites you to relive those intense moments with an ultra-realistic immersion in Manhay’s History 44 Museum.

19 December 1944, the cold has set in. Manhay’s residents find themselves cornered. On the one side, 2nd Division SS “Das Reich”, on the other the Volksgrenadiers, 3rd AD and 75 ID. Your location? “Trou du Loup”. That’s where, on 25 December 1944, the B24 bomber crashed down in La Fosse. The atmosphere is charged, damp and bitterly cold. And you cross this battle, which ended on 7 January 1945 with the liberation of the last villages in the community.

During this exclusive experience, you set out on a journey lasting 90 minutes together with an enthusiastic couple trained by Patrice and Maggy, who created this museum in 2018. 90 minutes, during which you discover the history of the Battle of Manhay, sense the plight of civilians stuck in the middle of it, and see the historic arms and objects.
