The Abbey is also a great starting point for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Ardennes on foot. 

A few kilometers from Maredsous lies the village of Falaën, one of "les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie". Here you can visit the ruins of Montaigle Castle and explore the beautiful valley with Les Draisines de la Molignée. A 'draisine' is a railbike which takes up to four people, so make sure everyone does their share!
