Holiday cottage in Sivry-Rance for 14 persons in the Ardennes

With a tranquil location at the edge of lush green woods, this charming and spacious house is perfect for relaxing holidays.

The minute you arrive you will be charmed by the character of this large house: together with its extensive private grounds, it's more like a small estate than a typical holiday cottage. The huge living room with its impressive wood-burning stove is perfect for warming up after a forest hike, and the combined kitchen/dining-room offers plenty of informal space for up to 14 persons. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms – with a further four bedrooms upstairs there is a total of 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms (all ensuite). There's a further shower in the top floor relaxation suite, where you'll also find a good-sized sauna - an added luxury that's just one of the special things about this top quality rental. 

As welcoming as the house is, we suspect you'll be spending a lot of time outside on the wide, elevated terrace, with its views of the garden, pond and woods. The grounds are ideal for relaxing and for playing with children – there's even a ping-pong table – but please note that the pond is not secured and children will need to be closely supervised. 

The house is located in Sivry-Rance, just 5km from the little town of Sivry itself - where you'll find a bakery, pharmacy, and small supermarket.

This part of the Ardennes is great for long walks and leisurely rambles, and there's plenty to explore both in Sivry-Rance and further afield, including the marble museum at Rance, the Aquascope nature centre at Virelles and the Eau d'Heure lakes and dam: a ride on the 'Red Crocodile' is sure to be a highlight of your holidays.

An easy 20-minute drive takes you to Chimay, the best-known Trappist brewery in Belgium. Here you can discover the rich flavours of these delicious beers, and the cheeses that complement them.   

And just 4km over the French border is the tourist resort of Val Joly where your group can experience a whole range of exciting activities, including fishing, sailing, and archery.
